                     CAPITAL KITCHEN CAMPAIGN

Feeding Tradition, Building the Future 🍽️

Help Us Build the Heart of Camp ❀️

Sherbrooke Lake Camp is launching an exciting capital campaign to build a new kitchen addition and complete essential renovations to our dining hall — the Arthur Harvie Lodge.
For more than 60 years, our dining hall has been the heart of camp life. It is where campers gather, friendships grow, and memories are made around shared meals. The need to update the 1960's era kitchen at the west end of the lodge has been very obvious for a long time.  Issues  such as a lack of insulation makes cooling almost impossible in the summer; old porous surfaces are difficult to sanitize and there is a lack of proper storage space.  There are traffic restrictions; the equipment is outdated and there is a lack of space to properly train our young campers and counsellors who support the kitchen staff by taking shifts in the kitchen.
With your support, we can create a modern, safe, and efficient kitchen that will serve generations of campers to come.

πŸ•οΈ Why This Kitchen Matters
Each summer, Sherbrooke Lake Camp nourishes a vibrant community of:
• 500+ campers, staff, CITs, and volunteers
• A 7-week summer program
• 5 months of spring and fall rentals

In 2025 we served 10,335 meals and 10,335 snacks to campers from all across Nova Scotia and Canada! we have nourished and served more than 1,750 campers, staff, CITS, and off season renters each year. This three phase project will ensure that more of the good work that Sherbrooke is known for can happen by improving efficiency, providing a work environment that is comfortable and safe, as well as providing a dedicated kitchen staff bathroom that is fully accessible.

A new kitchen will allow us to:
• Safely prepare thousands of meals
• Improve food preparation and storage
• Support our growing camp community
• Expand our ability to host retreat groups and rentals
• Continue providing welcoming, home-cooked meals that campers love
Meals are more than just food at camp — they are where stories are shared, songs are sung, and community is built.

Join us in building the future of Sherbrooke Lake Camp - one meal, one memory, one camper at a time.
